OUR MISSION...
To work in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital–San Diego to support its mission through: advocating for the health and well-being of children, increasing community awareness of Rady Children’s Hospital, and fundraising.
WHO ARE WE...
Since 1976, the Tierrasanta Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary has been a multi-generational group whose goals are to advocate for children and increase awareness of the Auxiliary within our community. As such, we possess the wisdom of the “grandma set,” the energy, enthusiasm and fresh ideas of the “younger set,” and all the good qualities of those in between.
We currently hold two fundraisers for Rady Children’s Hospital. “Cheers for Charity” is now our biggest event. Held in the spring at an interesting venue each year, it features some of San Diego’s best wineries, breweries, and restaurants, along with music, opportunity drawings, silent and live auctions, as well as an online auction that runs for several weeks. In early December, we hold our well-known and long-standing “Breakfast with Santa” event where we invite children and their families for breakfast, activities and, of course, a photo with Santa. In addition, we raise funds through a partnership with Broadway San Diego to sell tickets to popular shows.
The Tierrasanta Unit (RCHAT) meets in the evening, and our members come from all parts of San Diego County. We welcome members of all ages who value philanthropy, friendship, and fun. For more information, click the tab at the top of the Home page, then Contact Us.
